Invisalign® clear aligners are designed to straighten your teeth without impacting the way you live your life. This treatment fits into your lifestyle, instead of you having to adjust what you eat and how you play. Invisalign is ideal for teenagers with mild to moderate orthodontic concerns.
Aligners are removable so that teens can thoroughly brush and floss their teeth, helping to encourage oral health and reduce tooth decay and discoloration. Because aligners can be removed for mealtimes, teens are not forced to eat a restricted diet. Teens can also briefly remove the aligners for photo day, prom, or other big social events without disrupting the treatment.

Invisalign for Teens: What to Expect
Your Invisalign® treatment will begin with a personalized consultation with Dr. Izadi. Dr. Izadi will take the time to discuss all treatment options with teens and their parents so that they may make informed decisions.
Invisalign® is customized to each patient. Your teen will receive a series of aligners explicitly designed to meet their orthodontic needs.
Dr. Izadi uses a state-of-the-art digital imaging system called iTero® to take highly accurate photos of the patient’s teeth and jaw. The 3-D models of your teen’s mouth are used to create a series of aligners that will gradually shift teeth into proper alignment.
Aligners are fabricated out of a soft-hard clear plastic. The aligners fit snuggly against the teeth, making them virtually invisible to others. The soft plastic material and the aligner’s low profile help to reduce irritation of the lips, tongue, and gums.
Each set of aligners is typically worn for about two weeks, for 22 hours a day. While treatment times vary from patient to patient, the average treatment time is around 12-18 months. Dr. Izadi will outline the exact treatment times before the start of care. The success of Invisalign is dependent on strict adherence by the patient. It is critical that teens wear their aligners for at least 22 hours a day, seven days a week, for optimal results.
Invisalign for Teens: FAQs
Is Invisalign more expensive than metal braces?
Typically the cost of Invisalign ends up being comparable to traditional braces. The exact cost of orthodontic treatments varies and is dependent on additional necessary treatments and the extent of the orthodontic concerns being corrected. Although if treatment is short, it can be less expensive.

What happens after Invisalign?
After your Invisalign treatment is complete, you will need to wear a retainer for a period of time. The orthodontic retainer is very important and is needed to help keep your teeth from going back to their original crooked position. Without a retainer, you are at great risk of losing your Invisalign treatment results. Teeth do not stay straight without help from retainers after treatment.
